Michael Dixon represents clients in an array of intellectual property matters, with an emphasis on patent procurement, patent litigation, technology transfer transactions such as drafting and negotiating licenses, intellectual property due diligence in private equity and mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property asset management, intellectual property law opinions, trademarks, protection of trade secrets, confidentiality agreements, and copyrights. He represents a broad range of clients such as Fortune 500 companies, universities, start-up companies and individuals with their intellectual property needs.

Michael himself was experienced as an inventor on a U.S. patent prior to becoming a patent attorney. He has experience procuring patent protection in drafting patent applications and/or prosecuting applications for more than 500 patent applications, domestically and internationally, for inventions in mechanical and electrical technologies including medical devices, mechanical systems, turbine engines, marine industries, environmental remediation systems, building construction systems, automotive systems, firearms, sporting goods, software systems, business methods, and Internet and software-related patent applications. Michael has managed intellectual property portfolios including more than 400 patents and trademarks for corporate clients.

Michael also has experience in the building construction, water management, and nuclear power generation industries. He is also a Licensed Captain by the United States Coast Guard.
