Fomer Administrator for Florida Agency for Health Care Administration to Help Provider and Managed Care Clients Understand Regulatory Process

Ann Brattain has joined Akerman Senterfitt as a healthcare consultant in the Healthcare Practice Group and is based in the firm's Tallahassee office.

In her new role with Akerman, Brattain assists healthcare provider and managed care organization clients understand the regulatory process necessary to become licensed, and to stay in compliance after licensure, in Florida. She also assists those entities pursuing accreditation, which is required for some Florida health companies, and is becoming the standard for others.

Brattain is a registered nurse with 45 years of service in the healthcare industry. She joins the firm having recently served as an Administrator for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration in the Bureau of Managed Health Care, and she has an extensive background in administrating commercial and Medicaid managed care regulations. She is experienced in risk management and analysis of quality of care provided to subscribers of managed care organizations and all aspects of compliance and licensure issues with the Federal and state Medicaid and Medicare programs. Brattain also is a qualified surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
