Akerman lawyers Jonathan Gopman, Barbara Ruiz-Gonzalez, and  Sherwin Simmons were highlighted in Capital, a Panamanian business and financial newspaper. The paper reported that the trio traveled to Panama to speak at a Nexia International seminar titled "U.S. Citizen/Resident Aliens Living in Panama," where the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) was discussed.
