Karen Specie Joins Akerman Senterfitt

Karen Specie has joined Akerman Senterfitt as of counsel within the Bankruptcy & Reorganization Practice and will be based in Akerman's Jacksonville office. In addition to working with clients in Jacksonville, Specie also will continue to represent clients in markets throughout the state including Gainesville, Tallahassee, Panama City and Pensacola.

Specie has more than 30 years of experience in general commercial and business litigation as well as bankruptcy & creditor/debtor rights. She is admitted to practice in all Florida bankruptcy and District courts and the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals.

She is ranked in Florida as a leading Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights and Business Litigation lawyer by Super Lawyers Florida. Specie is a director and past president of the Northern District Bankruptcy Bar Association. She joins Akerman from her self-named firm, Specie Law Firm, LLC, and is admitted to the Florida and New York Bars.
