Akerman Once Again Receives Top Rankings in Chambers Global
Firm Lawyers Recognized World-Wide for Leading Litigation, Arbitration and International Practices

Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, today announced that the firm and its lawyers have once again been recognized among the best in the world by Chambers Global for their leading litigation, arbitration, and international practices.

Once again, the firm's Cuba Practice was ranked in General Business Law (Expertise Based Abroad) – Cuba. The 2017 Chambers Global edition also singled out Akerman lawyers as leaders in their fields of practice. Felipe Berer, a partner in the Corporate Practice Group, was once again ranked as a leader in International Trade in both the U.S. and Brazil markets. Augusto Maxwell, chair of Akerman's Cuba Practice, was ranked as a leading lawyer in General Business Law – Cuba. Luis A. Perez, co-chair of Akerman's Latin America & the Caribbean Practice, was ranked in Arbitration (International) – Latin America-wide and in International Arbitration – USA (Foreign Expertise Latin America-wide). Martin Tully, co-chair of Akerman's Data Law Practice and integral in the development of the Akerman Data Law Center, was ranked in Litigation (USA) – E-Discovery.

Akerman's Cuba Practice achieved the same distinction in the Chambers Latin America 2017 edition. The team was also recognized nationally in the current edition of U.S. News – Best Lawyers for International Arbitration – Commercial and for International Trade and Finance Law. In addition, the Financial Times ranked Akerman among the top 20 most innovative law firms in North America for constructing a groundbreaking legal framework that enables its client Musicabana to launch the largest, most historic music event of its kind in Cuba.
