The Miami Herald Quotes Steven Wernick on Rise of Micro Apartments in South Florida
July 27, 2017
Steven Wernick spoke with The Miami Herald for an article titled, "The Micro Apartments Are Coming to Miami. Are You Ready for Tiny Living?" Wernick represents developer East End Capital, whose Wynwood 25 project in partnership with the Related Group introduces a new trend to the Miami market – micro apartment units to provide tenants more affordable urban living. A key player in the creation of the nationally recognized Wynwood Neighborhood Revitalization District (NRD), Wernick expanded upon how neighborhoods can become amenities that complement residential developments like Wynwood 25. He was also quoted in Daily Business Review and The Real Deal South Florida.

The Miami Herald wrote, "'The NRD is driven to shape Wynwood into a mixed-use, vibrant neighborhood with places to work and live, in addition to the existing businesses and restaurants,' said Steven J. Wernick, an attorney at Akerman LLP, who serves as land-use counsel for East End and assisted in the joint venture with Related. 'Over time, we'll see a diverse group of people moving into Wynwood — people who want to be close to places of work, arts and culture and restaurants. This building is an economic catalyst for more development in the heart of Wynwood, and it adds a significant amount of units to the neighborhood's housing stock.'"
